Gaynor hails from Cape Town, South Africa, and she and her husband have proudly called Vancouver home for the past 34 years. Her journey from South Africa to the Canadian West Coast has shaped both her worldview and her work, inspiring a deep appreciation for culture, community, and connection—values she brings to everything she does.
After teaching high school for several years, Gaynor transitioned into the non-profit sector, where she dedicated 25 years to supporting communities and newcomers. Today, she is thrilled to be part of the Locate Vancouver team. As she often says, “What could be better than showing newcomers around our beautiful city and then helping them find their new home!”
Gaynor and her husband raised their two (now adult) children in Vancouver, and as happy “empty nesters,” they still live in the same cherished family home.
